Do you ever wish you could just erase a painful memory from your mind?

Science hasn’t quite figured this one out yet but Accelerated Resolution Therapy offers something similar!

Accelerated resolution therapy

What is ART?
Born from the foundations of EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) uses similar eye movements but takes the healing process even further —often resolving a singular issue in just one session! Accelerated Resolution Therapy is an evidence-based practice that allows us to resolve distressing memories, emotions, and bodily sensations quickly and effectively. This structured approach allows for rapid symptom resolution by directly targeting the root of the problem! By utilizing eye movements and guided imagery, ART works with your brain’s natural ability to reprocess and reframe experiences. This approach reduces the emotional charge of painful memories without requiring you to verbalize the trauma in detail.

How does ART work?
Trauma in its disordered form is a result of “glitches” in the memory. The brain was unable to fully process the traumatic event, resulting in post-traumatic stress symptoms. In ART, we incorporate rapid eye movements similar to REM sleep, when our brain is processing our short-term memories into long-term ones. By blending rapid eye movements and guided imagery, ART helps “reprogram” the way memories and emotions are stored in the brain. This process leads to an instantaneous relief from symptoms and a newfound sense of peace in your day-to-day!

What can ART address?

ART is highly versatile and can be used for nearly any mental health symptom or issue, including: trauma, anxieties & phobias, depression & grief, addiction, disordered eating, insomnia, and more!

What are the next steps?
ART is a structured process designed to ensure safety, clarity, and effective resolution.

  1. Planning Session - After your Initial Assessment, we will meet virtually or in-person to review your trauma history, assess current symptoms, and identify the focus for the ART session. This step ensures that we approach the session with clear goals and an understanding of your unique needs. This is a 50-minute session.

  2. ART Session - During this in-person session, you’ll be guided through the ART process, using eye movements and visualization techniques to address the identified issue. This step involves reprocessing distressing memories, replacing negative imagery with positive and empowering mental visuals. This session will be in-person as research has not studied the effectiveness of this therapy in a virtual setting. The length of an ART session is 45-90 minutes.

  3. Post-Session Follow-Up - After the session, we’ll reassess your symptoms, discuss any new material that surfaced, and make recommendations for further steps, if needed. Many clients feel significant relief after one session, but additional sessions may be scheduled for comprehensive healing. This 50-minute session can be completed virtually or in-person.

If you’re ready to resolve emotional pain and gain freedom from symptoms, ART offers a compassionate, effective, and transformative pathway to healing!
